Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC Vigna del Convento di Capestrano 2014
Despite the difficult vintage in 2014, the Trebbiano di Vigna di Capestrano was a nice surprise for us. Rainy summer, both in terms of frequency and quantity. We never reached the hot peaks which given the nick name "Forno d'Abruzzo" (Abruzzo's Oven) to Ofena's and Capestrano valley. Several rain's days kept the temperatures low creating very cool nights even at the end of July. We had a late harvest, almost in mid-September. The fermentation started naturally without any stop. Balanced wine and lively this vintage.
