Vintages - 2003 for Valle Reale

This was an important and very busy year for Valle Reale.
From a meteorological point of view, it was the driest year in the past 100 years and there were numerous wildfires in our zones. Unfortunately some of them touched upon our vineyards in Popoli. It was also the year that we planted the cuttings of Trebbiano d’Abruzzo in the Capestrano Vineyard, which immediately faced a very difficult year. Unfortunately, 15% of the young plants had to be replaced, only to be followed by a devastating iron chlorosis that put them once again to the test. But ever since, these rows, and in particular the parcel on the ridge overlooking the Capestrano spring, have given us grapes of the highest quality.
